Relationship difficulties can be challenging and working as a couples counsellor for the past 24 years has given me an insight into the importance of helping clients sustain a more stable, fulfilling life that works for them and grows stronger over time. I work with both individuals and couples to help gain clarity and understanding to help manage the struggles we can all face at times. I focus on moving forwards towards growth and change.
As part of my professional development I further trained in Family Mediation, and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. However, my particular interest is working with Emotional Focused Therapy. This approach helps partners make sense of their negative stuck patterns of interaction. It enables them to move towards a feeling of safety and connection and to recognise and understand their fighting patterns so they can step back from them and talk about it instead of getting caught in it. It is also a very effective way of working with individuals.
Every client is different and I adapt my way of working to the needs of each client.
I am a fully accredited BACP couples counsellor having trained and worked as a psychodynamic couples therapist at London Marriage Guidance (now called Tavistock Relationships) and as a Relate Licensed practitioner.
I have a private practice in two London locations, West Hampstead and Marylebone W1. I offer relationship counselling to same-sex and heterosexual individuals and couples and my clients come from a wide range of different backgrounds, cultures and religions. I offer an impartial and empathic approach in a confidential and caring setting.
Appointments are held during daytimes, evenings and Sunday mornings. I offer face to face appointments as well as working over Skype.
